Besides the well known
Echolink App, does anyone use any good amateur radio apps on their iPhone/iPod/iPad that they would like to share?
I think
MobileTAFL ($0.99) for iPhone looks like it could be very useful to some.
Quote:
The TAFL or Technical Administrative Frequency List is a database of radio licenses issued by Industry Canada to Companies and Organizations which use radio spectrum. This list is of particular importance to Radio amateurs and scanner enthusiasts.
The entire National TAFL is kept on the device so that it may be searched out of service corridors. Due to this the application itself is approximately 60-80MB.
You are able to search the TAFL by Name, Frequency and by Locations in the database which are near your current location by means of “What’s Near”.

I'm tempted to grab it but I'll hold off till they have one for the iPad.
I did grab
iSDR (Free) which is an iPod/iPhone/iPad Software Defined Radio App that looks promising but is obviously still in the early stages of development. I can't get it to work with my softrock unfortunately so I'm stuck with the looping sdr file that's included with the app.
APRS would seem a natural fit with the built in google maps component on these devices. I took a look at
OpenAPRS xL ($3.99) and
APRSNow ($2.99), but unsure which is the best one, or if the developers are going to continue development on them.
Does anyone have any others they can recommend?
