Manotick Amateur Radio Group & VE3RIX

Introduction

Welcome to the website of The Manotick Amateur Radio Group. The group was formed in June 1984 after several local radio amateurs set up a special event station to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the village of Manotick. The idea of forming some sort of local radio club came up often during the event, and only 3 months later, our inaugural meeting took place. We decided on the name Manotick Amateur Radio Group (M.A.R.G.), and elected our first leader, Dave (VE3GEA & VE3TS).

In 1986 M.A.R.G. installed an open VHF repeater southwest of the village of Manotick. This repeater now proudly serves Ottawa and the surrounding Eastern Ontario & Gatineau area on 145.450Mhz (-600hz). Visit our "About Us" page to read the full story.

This site is open to all current and future radio amateurs. Please visit our forums, where you can participate in or start your own discussions on the various topics of our great hobby. Also browse our site to find information on our VHF repeater, a great interactive Ottawa & Eastern Ontario repeater list and map, APRS maps of Eastern Ontario, amateur radio news & events, and much, much more.
