VE3RIX - Our VHF Repeater in Ottawa

The VE3RIX VHF repeater is sponsored by the Manotick Amateur Radio Group and is located on top of L'esplanade Laurier in downtown Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The repeater covers the City of Ottawa as well as a good part of Eastern Ontario. The output frequency is 145.450 Mhz and the input offset is negative 600 Khz. There is an optional CTCSS of 151.4 hz.

VE3RIX is also directly linked to the VE3ORF repeater on 444.550Mhz, and there is future plans for a 1.25M (220Mhz) repeater at the same Ottawa location.

VE3RIX is a public repeater open to use by all radio amateurs in and around Ottawa. However, you don't need to be in the nations capital, you can connect from anywhere in the world via IRLP and Echolink! Our IRLP node number is 2596, and our Echolink node number is 148649.

 

How to use some of the features of VE3RIX

IRLP:

  • Connect: Simply dial the 4 digits of the node number you wish to connect with.
  • Disconnect: Dial the numbers 73.
  • Note: If you lose the repeater, the connection will time out automatically.

Echolink:

  • Connect: Dial A plus the node number you wish to connect with (ie: A 123456 all at once).
  • Disconnect: Dial the numbers 73.
  • Note: If you lose the repeater, the connection will time out automatically.

Please note that you will not hear the repeater announcements if you have CTCSS enabled on your radio.
